Wow, just rude! From a polite human bring perspective, why would you ever hand stuff off without at least asking if they mind holding it or putting it away? To assume, even if you were an FA, that you have nothing better to do than hold his fried chicken is RUDE! Turning around without saying a word was spot on! Why give him the courtesy he failed to extend to you?! You gals have worked just as hard as those guys to earn your wings and we all know they'd never have chicken shoved at them! Hats off to you amazing, strong, wonderful women!!!

Don't feel guilty about leaving the FA to deal with the guy. It is the FA's responsibility, not yours. I've had more than a few passengers ask me if I "Can Actually Fly the Plane?!?!" AFTER I introduce myself as their pilot.
That one gets old pretty quick! Oh, and once I had the passengers scream, (loud enough to be heard outside my headset) when the other (male) pilot left the cockpit and I was left up there alone. What did they think I was doing up there the whole time, entertaining him?

There are a few strange gifts to come with unemployment. Sometimes, they are difficult to get to, because one had to dig through the panic and fright. But, once you navigate around that, you get to the simple pleasures of life. And they are fantastic. At least in California, our summer lingers so there's even more to enjoy. xo

Fabulous that you are enjoying your time off! Don't even think about switching on that television in the daytime hours, the horror of it all... such a waste!!! I'll tell you a secret, my wedding album is not finished either. It was started, but never completed. Page one is lovely, followed by a book of empty pages and a nice box of photos to be included at a later date... there are just so many more things that seem to crop up on the list and push ahead of that little task. I think my retirement years will be the time to finish that up. :-) Do enjoy the outdoors and the exercise and catching up with your friends. What a joy! Take care...

Hi Andrea,
Last weeks accident and aftermath was IMHO nothing short of a miracle. As a humble traveler I cannot imagine what would be going on in the minds of the pilots out there in the world, but I do know that I, for one, have the utmost respect for each and every one of you. It cannot be an easy job that you do. I do not feel that what is wrong with our airline industry has anything to do with the airline personnel, who seem to be very hardworking and professional. When I am in an airport and there is a delay, or cancellation... I'm put out, sometimes angry but never at the airline pilots. Perhaps I am naive, but I believe they have the traveling public's best interest at heart. When I was very young, I was on a plane with my older sisters that had to do an emergency landing. We were just little girls traveling alone to our grandparents house. Everything turned out just fine, and I have never been afraid to get back on a plane and fly. I credit the crew of that plane with keeping things calm and we as little girls didn't feel too much drama. So... keep up the good work. You deserve much more than a pat on the back.

Hi Andrea,
I hope you made it back to the comfort of home, warm safe and sound. The snow is beautifu, but I say enough is enough at some point! Here in Chicago, we are experiencing extremes in snow and cold over the last few days. Oh how I wish for a vacation to warmer and tropical places!

A very Happy New Year to you, my friend.

I LOVE Disneyland! You going to Disney to take your mind off things is just the best. Everyone I talk to, it doesn't matter who they are, is worried sick about how the economy might effect them personally, or worse has already effected them. I was reading in the paper this morning that one of the best ways to deal with this is to divert your attention... so head to Disneyland. I wish I could go too. Oh, and if a kid is too big for a stroller he needs to walk, IMHO. (Unless he is disabled in some way, of course.) I kind of think shoving a kid into a stroller they are much too large for is the mark of lazy parenting. The parents just don't want to deal with walking slower, frequent stops to rest, etc. Again... my humble opinion. :-)
